Can I repair the System 32 folder of a 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium with a 32 bit Vista disc?

I am working to repair the System 32 folder of a friend's computer. It has a 64 bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, but I only have a 32 bit Windows Home Premium disc available. Will I be able to repair the folder from the disc without installing the disc's OS or running into any problems? Thanks.
