Does C:\WINDOWS\inf contain viruses?

These people phoned me up today claiming they were from Microsoft and that my computer is corrupted with viruses. They navigated me to the C:\WINDOWS\inf folder and said that the malicious files and spyware were hidden here. Is this true or not?? They keep ringing me every five minutes now because I hung up :( Thanks for your help
